Adoptable Mares
Raven
|
Raven came to us from Oakshore Human Society along with Cyan, both horses purchased by an irresponsible stable owner, who soon had his horses taken away.
Raven is an eight year old Selle Francis, The man stated that she was purchased at the same auction as Cyan, however had nothing else to tell but hearsay from the seller. After working with her for some time, Clarissa has found that Raven is a rather patient and gentle soul, and theorizes that Raven could excel at jumping. Having put her through the course a few times, Raven has a desire to please, and puts her best effort forth in order to do so. Boot, Scoot, Boogie - "Booty"
Diana |
"Booty" is an off the track Thoroughbred mare. While Thoroughbreds generally have a bit of a slim build to begin with, when Booty came to us she was quite thin. Booty was an owner surrender, as she was unsuccessful on the track, and deemed unworthy by those who were supposed to love her. While many race farms love their horses, Booty fell into careless hands.
Aggressive, shy and nervous, we hope Booty can further heal at our farm, as we hope to have her adopted out to a loving home. We've discovered Booty is quite agile, as occasionally we'll find her wandering the farm after we've put her in the pasture .. Breed: Thoroughbred Age: Estimated five years old Registries: Currently unregistered Adoption Fee: Currently unavailable for adoption. Check back later! Reason for Rescue: Owner Surrender If you have interest in adopting this mare in the future, please contact us here. Main Stable Aisle Six, Stall Three |

Diana is a crossbreed mare of unknown lineage. She is very sweet, however shy and untrained. While not aggressive, she spooks easily, and needs some work before we adopt her out.
She was picked up during a bust; once owned by a broker and backyard breeder, she was well fed and in decent health, though the stabling conditions were filthy. One horse was found dead in one of the pastures, and a few other horses were skinny. It was theorized that Diana was well cared for because she was a brood mare, and the other, older horses, perhaps not having sold in some time, were more or less kept to the side to rot away. The owner had claimed that the horses had died of old age, and he planned to properly bury them, however didn't have the money. Fearing for the rest of the herd, the humane society removed a total of thirty six horses from the property. Twelve had to be put down due to illness and injuries, while the others were distributed to various rescues and foster homes. Diana is currently tending to twins, and will not be considered for adoption until both foals are yearlings. Breed: Unknown Age: Estimated to be six Registries: Currently unregistered Adoption Fee: Currently unavailable for adoption. Check back later! Snowflake
|
Snowflake is a small pony cross. Diana is quite small herself, but Snowflake is a couple inches shorter!
"Snowy" is a very sweet little mare, with a more sporty build. She has been tried under saddle, and does well. She can jump beautifully - when she wants to. When she's not working, Snowy is the perfect companion. However, when being lead or ridden, she's easily distracted and likes to give her rider a challenge. We are not sure as to whether or not we will offer her up for adoption, as we may add her to our lesson program after further training. Breed: Unknown Age: Estimated to be nine Registries: Currently unregistered Adoption Fee: Currently unavailable for adoption. Check back later! Reason for Rescue: Purchased from a feed lot auction.
