Management
An overview as to how Robinhood Farm is run.
Pasture SchedulePasture time depends on the current weather, and meadow turnout is allowed only during late spring to the end of the summer seasons. Throughout the rest of the year, the meadow is left fallow.
Horses always have access to individual turnouts. Autumn
Horses are kept inside their stalls a large portion of the time, however allowed outside in the small pastures in good weather. Winter Horses are kept inside their stalls, with the usual access to their turnouts. Pasture time is allowed depending on the depth of the snow or the current weather. Most of the time, the horses will remain indoors, although given longer sessions in the arena. Spring Horses are let out into the pastures for a large portion of the time, however, kept inside during poor weather conditions and during the night. Summer During the summer, the horses are released into the large meadow off to the side of the main lot. The meadow is often overgrown, as it is only checked for garbage and routine maintenance, as well as poisonous plants. Otherwise, the meadow is left alone for the horses to graze down for the season. The horses remain outside for the majority of the season, as they have access to a large horse shed. During possibly dangerous weather, the horses are locked safely in the shed, and then released once more when conditions improve. Lessons, trail rides and therapy sessions will continue as normal. |
Feeding ScheduleHorses are fed depending on both the season and their human's wishes - during the summer, horses are not given any
hay, however are offered grain periodically throughout the day, distributed for the herd. Horses with specific needs are separated from the herd to ensure that they get their proper feed. Feeding schedule from fall to early spring. In poor weather, horses are fed a bit more, as they do not have access to their pastures.
